Time flies!

I just noticed how long it's been since I last posted anything on here! The year has flown by and it's been a busy one!Lots of out & about sketching, Drawing events and the like!
This post is going to be right up to date though, I have had the pleasure the last few days of getting away from the little books and working on a bigger scale, a fun kindergarten wall job.
The photos were taken with my averagely adequate camera tablet, but I will take the 'real' camera in when I'm done & recrd the whole thing properly, so something to look forward to.
I am really enjoying myself, so I hope you like what I've got so far, another couple of walls are lined up for further colourful exploits..

End of day 1 (ca.3 hours on a ladder)
I used dark gold paint in the tree trunk and some of the leaves,
so they shine a bit in different lights, fun!

end of day 2 (ca. 3 hours)
loving doing the animals, couldn't resist adding more,
I don't think that will be all either!

2 hrs day 3, added some grass from the entrance door, now getting a
few ideas for an addition to draw the eye in when you enter.. watch this space

the 'red ribbon' runs the length of the hallway and will be used for hanging the kids pictures,
drawings and or photos on,
-here's what's on the other end...

end of third day, there's a few bit's more I want to add
and I'll be moving on to the next wall and next motif
(I've already prepared it...)

End of summer

I've been busy visiting beaches and local towns with my sketchbooks lately with 'sketchy friends'
One of my favourite sketchbooks is very small, fits in a small bag perfectly
Lot's of coffee drunk & chips eaten.. bliss.. the summer has to be taken as it comes, before it goes..

Work I did when I was a teenager

I recently was sent some photos of work I did when I was around 13/14yrs old in the UK in the 1980's which were bought by my best friends parents.
They were among the first things I ever sold and this really encouraged me to do more.
I am glad this happened, as all the other work I did including the sketchbooks and first years of Art school were 'lost' mysteriously.. long story, so this is great to see the pieces again, I had totally forgotten what I had done and had no idea how good or bad the work was until I saw them again!

Self portrait?

The ash tree by the front gate
I played for hours under this tree when I was very small, when the boughs touched the ground, it was my 'house'

ArtSmart Amsterdam

My new students explored travelling after using their imagination after looking at a postcard of Vermeer's 'Officer and Laughing Girl'
Once a picture was finished ( usually quite quickly) I surprised them by adding another sheet of paper to continue the story, and then another, sometimes the table got too small
Wonderful stories and even poems developed and I'm very proud of them!
